This is part of a large-scale project from my Senior Illustration class. The project was to design a toy (and the branding, ie. logo, packaging, etc.) based around a controversial social issue.
The issue I chose was "designer dog breeding" because I love dogs, and animals in general. Hopefully the project speaks for itself, but if you are confused or interested in my stance on the issue, go to this deviations to learn more about this project. [link]
This is a shot of the booklet one receives with your Hybreed toy. You can't tell in this shot, but it is designed to look like a wallet) perfect for inside your purse packaging!). It comes with a "hyBREED pediGREE", a flip book, and a pullout "how to" illustrated story (which takes a cynical look at designer dog breeding).
For instance, the pedigree card says: Congratulations. You are the proud owner of the unpredictable, mass-produced, over-priced "Pugadoogle" (or named crazy breed your toy contains)
This booklet is my favorite part of this project. And it, well, shows off the most illustration in this project (unlike the toy itself, and the packaging, poo. So that's why I added this to the project). The flip book was fun to do. I drew ~12 different breed profiles and you can mix-and-match!
